Annual International Festival Drawing Near

The 32nd annual festival is expected to bring as many as 70,000 people to downtown festival.

Peabody’s largest and most renowned community event is just over a month away.

The 32nd annual International Festival will take place on Sunday September 20 beginning at 11 a.m.

Admission is free to the public, who are welcome to visit over 70 festival booths which will line Main Street and part of Lowell Street. This year’s Festival is expected to draw a record 70,000 people to downtown Peabody.

“Peabody’s International Festival is the largest celebration of its kind on the North Shore,” said Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. “The Festival brings tens of thousands of people together to celebrate the richness of our diversity and the strength of our community spirit.”

Local restaurants, youth organizations, churches, service clubs, and ethnic groups will offer wonderful cuisine from around the world. There will be non-stop entertainment on two Festival stages featuring performers representing over 30 countries.

Over 50 local artists will display and sell their work at the Festival Galleria located on Foster Street.

The Festival once again welcomes the young and young at heart to the annual Kid’s Day Celebration at the East End Veterans Memorial Park on Walnut Street.

In the event of rain on September 20th, the Festival will be held the following Sunday, Sept. 27.
