Art Show at South Branch continues
Local artist Ruth Ann Mowder displays her paintings at the South Branch for a limited time.

The South Branch of the Peabody Institute Library is continuing its support of local artists with a new showing of paintings by Ruth Mowder. Eleven examples of her art are now on display in the library, located at 78 Lynn St. These paintings are available for purchase, but will only be on display for a limited time through the fall.
The South Branch is thrilled to feature a local artist. The collection includes many paintings in watercolor and oils that depict local North Shore scenes. This show is an example of the Library’s commitment to supporting and partnering with the community.
Ruth Ann Mowder is an award-winning Peabody artist who had her first formal art class through Peabody’s Adult Education Program. Since then, she has explored painting in various mediums and worked with many noted artists on the North Shore. Ruth is also president of the Peabody Art Association which supports over 120 artists from the North Shore and Greater Boston area through showings and workshops. “I started painting years ago as a hobby, now it is a passion,” says Mowder. “I am still learning and loving it.”
