Artists Wanted to Think Outside the Box

The city is looking to beautify four lighting signal boxes.

PEABODY, MA - Do you have an artistic touch and want to share it with your friends and neighbors in Peabody?

The city is currently looking for artists for its Outside the Box utility box mural project.

Peabody has designed the project to support public art and help beautify the community and neighborhoods.

This year, the city’s Community Development Department has partnered with CDBG, PMLP, ArcWorks Community Art Center, the Department of Public Services, and the Fire Department to make the program possible.

Four lighting signal control boxes have been chosen to be transformed into works of art. They are located at Main/Howley, Washington/Foster, Walnut/Wallis, and Wilson Square.

The selected artists will be awarded a $750 stipend, inclusive of all artists fees, paints, and materials.
