Bakery and Apartments Planned for Old NSCAP Building
City Council to consider special permit for the project on Thursday night.
A new bakery and coffee shop could be coming to Main Street in Peabody.
Adriano Taugino of Hamilton has a purchase and sale agreement for 98 Main Street, the former home of the North Shore Community Action Program. Last year, NSCAP moved to new digs at 119 Rear Foster Street.
The agreement for the sale depends on Taugino obtaining the necessary permits to turn the former office space into six residential units on the second and third floors.

The project will need a special permit from the City Council for the residential units, which it will consider at its regular meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19.

The project will require 14 off-site parking spaces for the residential units, and Taugino is proposing 17.
In addition to the special permit from the council, the development will also require a site plan review from the Planning Board.
NSCAP had occupied the building as office space from 1980 until last year.
