State Police said Brandon Simmons was arrested after a struggle in the lobby of the Homewood Suites on Route 1 in Peabody on Wednesday.

PEABODY, MA — A Maine bank robbery suspect who was involved in a Salisbury manhunt on Monday was arrested at the Homewood Suites hotel in Peabody early Wednesday morning.

State police said Brandon Simmons was arrested after a "violent" struggle in the lobby of the Route 1 hotel.

State Police said Simmons had earlier fled from Danvers police, who attempted to stop him in a traffic stop. State troopers out of the Danvers Barracks then saw the stolen car Simmons was believed to be driving parked outside of the hotel. Police said Simmons struggled and tried to evade arrest before he was taken into custody.
