Beacon Roofing Supply Expanding in U.S. With Recent Acquisitions

Peabody-based company expanding in California and in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland and Georgia.

Beacon Roofing Supply Inc., which makes its corporate home at Lakeland Park Drive, recently acquired two California-based companies in a move estimated to generate $60 million in sales.

In late December, Beacon announced it had purchased Ford Wholesale Co., a distributor of residential and commercial roofing, and Construction Materials Supply, a distributor of mostly residential roofing. Both companies are located in Northern California and have a combined total of five stores.

Beacon now plans to conver the stores into company branches in San Jose, Oakland, Livermore and two in Sacramento.

A press release said the CEOs of both acquired companies would stay on with Beacon.

"We are very excited to welcome Ford Wholesale and CMS and their experienced teams to Beacon. These acquisitions allow Beacon to enter the attractive Northern California market in a substantial way and continue to expand our footprint in that state," said Paul Isabella, Beacon's president and CEO, adding that his company nearly quadruples its California branches with the acquisition.
