Bishop Fenwick Loses Heartbreaker in Overtime
Saugus High Sachems score game-winning goal in shootout to advance in MIAA boys hockey tournament.
When the Bishop Fenwick High Crusaders found themselves knotted at 1-1 with the Saugus High Sachems at the end of regulation on Saturday night's MIAA tournament playoff game, they had every reason to believe they could prevail.
But it was not meant to be. The Crusaders boys hockey team were unable to score any goals during the shootout that followed and watched helplessly as Saugus netted the game winner. Suddenly, Bishop Fenwick's season, which ended at 15-5-2, ended at Salem State University's Rockett Arena, 2-1. Saugus now moves on to the next round in the tournament.
Photographer Bob Roche captured a great deal of the action in this image gallery.
