Boston Strong for Brooksby Marathon

At this year's mini-marathon around the Peabody retirement complex, walkers and joggers wore special "Boston Strong" ribbons on their wrists.

The 12th Annual Brooksby Village Marathon saw more than 75 people who live and work at the retirement complex walk or jog a mile around the campus while sporting special "Boston Strong" ribbons.

The annual event, which was held May 29, raises money for the Benevolent Care Fund at Brooksby Village, which provides support for residents who outlive their financial resources and allows they to remain in the community.

“This year we had a great turnout of both runners, walkers, cheerleaders and we also had a record number of employees participate,” said Brooksby fitness specialist Stefanie Fuller, who organizes the mini-marathon each year.
