Bovine Intervention: Peabody Police Officer Leads Cows To Safety (VIDEO)
See how a Peabody police officer helped secure cows on the loose Saturday night.
PEABODY, MA — A herd of cows in Peabody was led to safety this weekend in a case of what could be called "bovine intervention" from the Peabody Police Department.
Police posted a video on social media showing Det. Will DeRoo coax the herd back to where the cows belonged after they looked to get out on the town on a Saturday night.
"While working a patrol shift, you need steady command presence, clear and calm verbal commands, and the patience of someone compassionately negotiating with a herd of cows who strongly believe Saturday night should never end," police said. "Detective DeRoo putting those skills to work as he calmly guided these guys like a seasoned farmer — convincing even cows to make good decisions on a busy Saturday night."
