Brooksby Village had its own version of the hit ABC show "Dancing with the Stars" when 16 people performed in "Dancing with the Brooksby Stars."

Both people who live and work at Brooksby Village performed all kinds of dance including rhumba, disco, tango, waltz, fox trot, jitterbug and zumba.

"This was our fourth year having this event and every year it gets bigger and better," said Lisa Kirshon. "Last year we made $2,500 for the Benevolent Care Fund and we hope to make even more this year. Everyone can't wait to see the performances."

Tickets were $5 and money raised will go to the Benevolent Care Fund, which is a fund set up to provide support to residents who, despite careful planning, outlive their financial resources. This fund enables residents to remain at Brooksby Village, knowing they will always receive the care they deserve.

Brooksby Village has three large clubhouses featuring an on-site medical center, staffed by full-time doctors, five restaurants, two convenience stores, two beauty parlors, a TV studio, a swimming pool, activity rooms, classrooms, game rooms and even two branches of a bank. Residents also have the opportunity to take part in hundreds of different clubs and activities. The community also has its own Interfaith Chapel on campus that serves as the physical foundation for a strong faith-based community.
