Brewery, Tasting Room Gets Final OK To Open In Peabody
Granite Coast Brewing Company could be open in Main Street as early as this summer.

PEABODY, MA -- Marblehead-based Granite Coast Brewing Company got the final, needed approvals to move ahead with its plans to open a brewery and taproom at 77 Main Street in Peabody. Plans for the brewery include a European-style tap and tasting room, an outdoor patio, a walk-in cooler, and an area for pop-up restaurants. With final approval of a special permit by Peabody City Council Thursday night, the brewery could be open for business as early as this summer.
While the company was formed in 2012, they have yet to sell a drop of beer. Most of the time so far has been spent branding and doing market research, according to the company's Website. While the company was initially expected to set up shop in Salem, Granite Coast ultimately chose Peabody in October after considering several locations in Salem.
