Bridge Closed Until October

Work began on the construction of the new Howley Street Bridge in June, but it’s only been in the last week or two that the work has become very noticeable.

The bridge is now closed to traffic as state work crews begin the brunt of the work.

Local businesses on Howley Street remain open during the construction. The bridge is expected to be closed until early October, according to officials from the state’s Department of Transportation.

Detours are in place and alternate access points are demarcated by DOT-operated electronic road signs.
