Bridgewell Day Of Community Service At Peabody's Newhall Fields Farm

Bridgewell's annual month of giving back kicked off on Tuesday with more than 60 members helping with the farm harvest.

PEABODY, MA — More than 60 members of the Peabody-based Bridgewell nonprofit social and human services organization kicked off its annual month-long community service campaign with a day of giving back at Peabody's Newhall Field Community Farm on Tuesday.

Bridgewell members helped replant seeds for the spring, lay mulch, shovel gravel onto the greenhouse floor, and perform other landscaping duties for the municipal farm.

The event is meant to connect participants from its programs with its partners and supporters in the communities it serves.

Citizens Inn's Haven from Hunger regularly receives fresh produce from the farm to aid in its mission of breaking the patterns of instability that lead to homelessness and hunger for every family and individual served.
