Brooksby Village Hosted The Longest Day, an Alzheimer’s Awareness Event

The residents and staff at Brooksby Village, a continuing care retirement community in Peabody, participated in The Longest Day on Friday, June 20th.  Events were held throughout the day beginning at 6 AM and ending at 10 PM.

On The Longest Day, teams around the world came together to honor the strength, passion and endurance of those facing Alzheimer’s with a day of activity. Held on the summer solstice, June 21st, this event calls on participants to raise funds and awareness to advance the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.*

“The team at Brooksby Village created a great opportunity to join together around the summer solstice and raise Alzheimer’s awareness,” said Todd DeLaney, Associate Executive Director, Brooksby Village.  “The days leading up to our event, residents and staff honored or showed support to a loved one impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease by writing a message on a decorative flower.  We created a garden full of all these decorative flowers and they were on display leading up to our Longest Day events.”
