Brooksby Village Residents Raise $3700 for Student Scholarships

Joan Pappalardo and John Murphy raised over $3700 for the Brooksby Village Student Scholarship Fund!

Peabody, MA – Joan Pappalardo and John Murphy, Brooksby Village residents, unveiled their North Pole Village once again this holiday season and raised over $3700 for the Brooksby Village Student Scholarship Fund!

More than 1200 residents, staff and their families visited their North Pole Village at at Brooksby Village, an Erickson Living community in Peabody, MA, during 32 open houses. This year the village was 14 ft long and 7 1/2 ft deep. The two story North Pole Village included 2 skating rinks, mountains with skiers, a train, simulated flowing water, and many more beautiful features.

Joan and John presented the money this week to Elizabeth Macomber, Philanthropy Manager, Brooksby Village.

"We have awarded scholarships to over 450 students since the program started in 2002," said Macomber. "The students become eligible for the Brooksby Village Scholarship by completing 1000 hours of work here over a consecutive 2-year period. The students and the residents build strong bonds of friendship. They enjoy their conversations, daily interactions and learning from each other. The scholarship program is a wonderful benefit for students working at Brooksby Village."

Brooksby Village is a vibrant continuing care retirement community managed by Erickson Living. The scenic 90 acre campus is located in Peabody, MA and is home to more than 1700 residents.
