Business and Arts Leaders to Discuss Creative Economy

The forum will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Peabody Access Telecommunications.

The North Shore is both a major economic center and one of the leading arts regions in New England. Next week, a forum in Peabody will help show how those two sides of North Shore life can work together.

The Creative Economy Network of the North Shore will co-host an forum on the Creative Economy in the Peabody region with the Peabody Cultural Collaborative on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 5:30-8 pm at Peabody Access Telecommunications, 119R Foster St., Building 13. The meeting will feature top state officials working in the arts and creative economy today, including Helena Fruscio of the Massachusetts Office of Housing and Economic Development and Mass Cultural Commission Executive Director Anita Walker.

The meeting is free but reservations are required by contacting Elizabeth.Gianino@montserrat.edu.

Other participants include State Sen. Joan Lovely, Montserrat College of Art President Steve Immerman, MassCreative Director Matt Wilson, Peabody Mayor Ted Bettencourt, Planning Department Director Karen Sawyer Conard and Peabody Chamber Executive Director Deanna Healey. The session will be recorded by PAT (Peabody Access Telecommunications).

The evening will conclude with a networking time so participants will have time to meet and speak with each other.
