Mayor Bettencourt and the Peabody Area Chamber hosted a Meet & Greet for business leaders as part of National "Small Business Week" earlier this week. The event, attended by 100 local businesses, provided the opportunity to meet key staff at city hall and open a dialogue for conversation. Everyone from Police and Fire to building inspectors and purchasing were available. In addition, the Chamber provided a short presentation on resources available to help small businesses and support a strong local economy.
So, how exactly does the Peabody Area Chamber help businesses? Research points out that consumers are more likely to do business with a company if it’s a member of their local chamber of commerce.
