Business As Usual for Adjacent Company After Styrofoam Factory Fire
CNE Direct announced Friday it would continue its operations after the 5th Street fire displaced the staff at its Peabody facility.

Peabody, MA – CNE Direct, whose Peabody facility was impacted by the blaze that claimed the styrofoam factory on 5th Street earlier this week, said Friday it would continue its business operations while relocating displaced staff.
The staff will be transferred to the company's locations in Salem and Middleton, CNE Direct said in a press release. None of its employees were injured in the fire.
"I would like to thank everyone who has reached out to us and give very special thanks to the Peabody Fire Department whose work has been outstanding," Paul Knight, CEO of CNE Direct, said in the release.

Peabody Deputy Fire Chief Richard Nelson told the Boston Globe that this was the longest fire he’d battled in his career.
The fire was reported around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, prompting the evacuation of the factory and all neighboring buildings. No injuries were reported.
