JULY 4TH Protest : Let your voice be heard

Event Details

Rail Trail Bridge over rte 114, Peabody, MA

July 4th : Celebrate Democracy & the Constitution!

Celebrate our nation's 250th birthday by using your First Amendment right to free speech. Join Indivisible for a peaceful rally to protest the Trump administration’s threats to our democracy, voting rights, and the rule of law.  Reclaim Independence Day rather than participate in partisan and ego-centric presidential spectacles.

While it is a family holiday, the protest is only one hour.

Our democracy needs your voice.

Stand with us to protect healthcare, affordable housing, and humanitarian rights for all. Anyone from any town is welcome, if peaceful.

    Parking & Logistics:
  • Option 1: Park behind Walmart and take the path up to the Rail Trail.
  • Not handicapped accessible. Go around right, park at the far end.  Walk onto grassy area  behind Walmart & slightly to left until you come to a path; it takes you to steep steps.  Turn right at top.
NOTE: Local businesses along Route 114 near the bridge have historically been amenable to protestor parking, away from front of buildings please. Be respectful.  Best if you want stay below bridge, but there are stairs up to bridge.
Option 2). West bound on Rte. 114: park @ Herb Chambers Jeep before bridge; @MacDonalds just after bridge (be very careful if walking on  sidewalk under bridge). Very poor access to bridge this side of road.
  • Option 3). East bound on Rte. 114: Before bridge, in small mall with City Smoke shop & 4 seasons Nails & Spa (park way @ end towards Rail trail in side area), or string of shops just under the Rail Trail where Twisted Fate and Radical Adventures are. Bridge not handicapped accessible here - steep steps both sides of bridge east bound. NO sidewalk under bridge this side.
  • Option 4). Handicapped access:
  • A). Take Sheldon Rd, just before Sunoco heading East, go to left of Danvers Indoors Sports towards Rail Trail.  There is an open gate somewhere there that is fairly flat. Turn left at trail.
  • B). if you have friends at Brooksby Village, there is access from there, but locked if you don’t have key.
  • See you there! YOUR VOICE DOES MATTER!!!
