Calling All Artists: Outside the Box Mural Project Kicks Off in Peabody

The city is looking for submissions to artistically paint two utility boxes in downtown Peabody

Peabody wants artists and residents to think outside the box.

Lucia DelNegro, Peabody’s Conservation agent, is spearheading the brand new mural project in Peabody. There are similar projects in Salem and Boston.

“To sum it up we are looking for submissions to paint two utility boxes - light signal control boxes - in downtown Peabody,” DelNegro wrote in an email.”The idea behind the project is to bring art to unexpected places while enhancing the aesthetics of the neighborhood.”

The boxes are located at the corner of Main/Washington streets and Main/Park streets.
