'CharlieCard Day' Coming To Peabody For Seniors
State Sen. Joan Lovely and State Rep. Thomas Walsh will host the day at the Peabody Council on Aging.

PEABODY, MA — North Shore seniors who do not want to make a trip all the way to Boston to get their discount-rate CharlieCards will be able to obtain one in Peabody next week.
State Sen. Joan Lovely (D-Salem) and State Rep. Thomas Walsh (D-Peabody) and members of their staffs will assist North Shore residents 65 and older with applying for the Charlie Cards at the Peabody Council on Aging on Oct. 14.
In most cases, the state Department of Transportation requires seniors to travel to Boston to get their cards and the discount that comes with them.

On Oct 14, the offices of Sen. Lovely and Rep. Walsh will take photographers for the applications and help seniors with the application process from 10 a.m. to noon.
Seniors looking to participate should bring a photo ID with their date of birth. The CharlieCard will then be mailed directly to them.

Senior CharlieCards are valid for discounted travel on all MBTA transportation, including the bus, commuter rail, subway and ferry service.
