CODE RED: Free Community Messaging Service
The system is designed to notify residents of emergencies, key weather-related information, and community events.

Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. is asking Peabody residents and others to enroll in the city’s new community messaging system Code Red.
The system is designed to notify residents of emergencies, key weather-related information, special community events and other useful information that may immediately impact their safety or quality of life.
“After our historic winter of 2015 it became apparent to me that we needed a messaging system with much greater reach,” said Mayor Bettencourt said in a news release. “Code Red enables Peabody residents and others to get important information sent directly to their home phone, email or mobile device.”
