Convicted Killer Out on Parole Again
A former Peabody man who was convicted of stabbing his brother-in-law to death 22 years ago has been released on parole for the second time.

Kevin Wood is back out on parole for the second time in just over two years.
The Salem News reports that Wood, a former Peabody resident, was convicted of second-degree murder for stabbing his brother-in-law, George Aulson, to death in 1991 during an argument between the two men at Wood's mobile home.
According to reports from the original case, Aulson had shown up late one night to confront Wood about tipping off the police to their marijuana-growing operation, and a deadly fight ensued.

Wood was finally granted parole on his second try in 2010 -- Parole Board members cited sincere efforts and progress at rehabilitation over 19 years -- but then Wood ended up back in jail after two run-ins with Aulson's brother, reports the Salem News.
He was released again by the Parole Board earlier this year, but told to stay out of Peabody unless he has specific permission to visit family members. He also has a 10 p.m. curfew.

Documentation from the Parole Board shows Wood's latest hearing was Nov. 27 and the board issued a decision Jan. 16 to grant parole.
