Crews Wrap Up Road Work in Peabody for the Year
Crews are painting new lines on repaved roads and finishing up minor items.

City work crews are putting the finishing touches on nearly $1.9 million worth of road improvement projects across Peabody. The work encompasses large scale repaving projects on Lowell Street, Russell Street, Gardner Street,
Lynnfield Street, Lynn Street and Bartholomew Street as well as smaller scale projects on many of the city’s secondary roads.
“Many of our roads took an absolute beating last winter and were in desperate need of repair,” MayorTed Bettencourt said. “Fortunately, we were able to demonstrate a greater need for state aid this year and we received an additional $630,000 above our typical allotment. This allowed us to significantly increase the number of repaving projects without adding extra burden to Peabody.”
City work crews are in the process of painting new traffic lines on recently repaved streets as well as completing various punch list items which typically mark the end of roadway improvement projects.
