Crimson Aquatics Dominates at New England Swimming 14/Under Age Group Championships

Crimson Aquatics places first in New England Swimming 14 and Under Championships

Boston, MA - Crimson Aquatics attended this years 14/Under Age Group Championships at Blodgett Pool at Harvard University this past weekend. This year they finished with a total of 2,633.5 points, first overall, and is the new record holder in the 11-12 400 Meter Medley Relay. Rounding out the top three were Crimson Aquatics, Phoenix Swimming, and Shawmut Aquatic Club.

Crimson dominated the meet with high point scorers Shea Furse, Harry Herrera, and Stefan Messer. Shea, who is 10, placed third in overall points including first in the 50 backstroke (36.33), second in the 50 fly (33.80) and 100 backstroke (1:20.02), and third in the 100 butterfly (1:20.69). Harry Herrera placed 6th overall for 11 year old boys. Harry had an excellent mile, coming in first overall with a time of 20:15.72. Harry also was third in the 200 breast (2:58.35) and 100 breast (1:25.36), and fourth in the 400 free (5:12.95). Stefan Messer placed 7th overall for 11 year old boys. He placed first in the 50 backstroke (34.88) and 200 backstroke (2:48.17) and fifth in the 100 (1:17.42), as well as top 8 in all of his other events.

Other notable swims from Crimson include DeeDee Ansari who had an impressive 50 fly (40.58) scoring 4th in the 9 and under division. Nareg Minassian scored 6th in the 200 breast, 5 in the 100 breast, and 4th in the 50 breast. Alkinoos Armoundas also had best times in the 1500 and 800 freestyles, scoring points in both for Crimson. Sam Gove also had a fantastic meet! She scored first in the 400 free (4:42.42) , fourth in the 200 free (2:11.90), and fourth in the 100 free (1:02.02). Mallika Chari (1:34.56, 43.40) and Jason Guo (1:46.77, 49.55) also swam great 100 and 50 breaststrokes. Gabriel McCarthy, Nicole Kalavantis, John McEachern, Kailash Chari, Ginger Ren, Alex Furse, Tyler Knightly, and Daniel Xu also had lifetime best times in their races.
