Dowd Does it Again
Junior star forward Dowd keeps Peabody alive in tourney play, now bound for Sectionals Final.

Thanks to a perfect shot from scoring sensation Hayley Dowd in overtime Friday afternoon, Peabody girls' soccer is now bound for the Division I North Finals on Sunday.
Dowd and the Lady Tanners took down a tough Acton-Boxboro team at Lynn's Manning Field Friday in the tournament semi-finals. The game remained scoreless through regulation play and with just under 7 minutes to go in the first overtime period, Dowd earned a free kick and buried it in the opponents' net.
The Lady Tanners now head to the Sectional Final game back at Manning Field versus Chelmsford Sunday (5:30 p.m.) The Lions knocked off North Andover on Friday, and during the regular season, tied things up with Peabody.
