FBI Arrests Peabody Man On Child Pornography Charges

Raymond Scanzani, 60, of 85 Andover Street, had been convicted on similar charges in Florida in 2006.

PEABODY, MA -- FBI agents say they found nearly three dozen new child pornography images on a computer and camera when they executed a search warrant of a Peabody man's home Tuesday. Raymond Scanzani, 60, of 85 Andover Street, charged in U.S. District Court in Boston with possessing child pornography and violating his probation from a 2006 conviction in Florida.

Scanzani was convicted of three federal felony counts related to the possession, transporting and receiving child pornography by means of a computer when he was convicted of being part of a ring that traded images through a file sharing service. At the time, he was living in Fort Lauderdale and had as many as 20,000 images on his computer.

He served eight years in prison and moved back to Massachusetts after his 2013 release. As a condition of his release, Scanzani was under lifetime supervision which prevented him from having contact with anyone under the age of 18 and could not have a job that required contact with children under the age of 18.
