Fenwick Barely Escapes With Win Over Lynnfield
The Crusaders went into the seventh inning holding a 9-6 lead, but just limped out with a 9-8 win on Lynnfield, leaving the bases loaded.
The Bishop Fenwick baseball club is in the semi-finals of the North Division III tournament and will play Newburyport next on Wednesday at Fraser Field in Lynn (4 p.m.).
The Crusaders narrowly knocked off Lynnfield, 9-8, on Monday after dropping a three-run lead on the Pioneers in the seventh inning. Fenwick is now 18-6 after defeating first and then Lynnfield.
The Crusaders were the No. 3 seed behind No. 2 Newburyport in the initial tournament pairings.
