A fundraising campaign has been established to help the family of Elivelton Dias.
Dias, a 38-year-old Salem man, was stabbed to death as he was working in the kitchen of PF Chang’s restaurant at the Northshore Mall on Saturday afternoon. Dias’ co-worker, Jaquan Huston, was due to be arraigned for the murder in Peabody District Court on Monday morning.

Dias leaves behind a wife and a nine-day-old baby girl.
The money collected through the gofundme campaign will help send his body to Brazil so his family can see him for the last time.

The widow doesn’t have any family or relatives living in the United States, so she is counting on the help and support of friends and kind people to help her get through this tragic time.
One former co-worker of Dias’ said he remembered him as a great person who helped him get adjusted to his new job at the restaurant.
“He was a good guy,” said the former co-worker who helped open the P.F. Chang’s with Dias in 2008. “Always with a smile on his face and as crazy as working in a kitchen can be, he was one of the most calm people I’ve seen in that environment. He made people laugh when they needed to.”
