PEABODY, MA —Granite Coast Brewing is looking to make up for time lost two years ago with a big month of events starting with this weekend's return of the Peabody Pop-Up Pub.

The outdoor craft beer, wine and music event was one of the city's last in March 2020 before the onset of the COVID-19 health crisis. With the pandemic finally starting to fade two years later, Granite Coast will be pouring some of its best pints at Court House Plaza Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. as part of Mass Craft Beer Week.

"In 2020, just before COVID, we were set to have our busiest month ever," Events Director Amy Luckiewicz told Patch. "Obviously, that didn't happen so we aimed at making March 2022 even busier ever.

That activity will include hosting a series of events with female-owned businesses as part of Women's History Month.

"We always prioritize women-owned businesses as partners all year round," taproom manager and co-owner Rob Dunn said. "But we're thrilled to have so many in March."

To celebrate Mass Beer Week, the taproom will have 17 beers on tap as part of the largest draught offering in its three-year history. Mass Beer Week celebrates the growth in the craft beer industry in both quantity and quality as the state has gone from 10 craft breweries in 2007 to 214 active breweries with 30 more slated to open by the end of 2022.

A limited-edition Mass Beer Week pint glass will be sold with proceeds benefitting the Mass Brewers Guild.

"As someone who used to work in the collectible market, I love the idea of a yearly unique glass design to celebrate Mass Beer Week," head brewer and co-owner Jeff Marquis said. "You can be sure I'll be adding one of these to my personal glass collection at home. The 2022 glass is perfect to enjoy your favorite local German Lager."

Granite Coast will also make its Irish Stout available on a nitro tap with a St. Patrick's Day party on March 17 that includes a free raffle for those wearing green.
