Help Bring a Community Theater to Peabody

Black Box Theater Has Potential To Receive $50,000 Grant from MassDevelopment

MassDevelopment, the state's economic and financial development agency, is willing to match a $50,000 fundraising goal to bring a community theater to downtown Peabody. Northeast Arc is spearheading an effort to construct a Black Box theater in a vacant space in their ArcWorks Community Art Center at 22 Foster Street. Last month, the Friends of the Black Box - a committee of community members, business owners, and Northeast Arc representatives - launched an online crowd funding campaign to raise $50,000 by the end of June. If this goal is met then MassDevelopment has pledged to match it, but it's an all or nothing campaign. Peabody residents and supporters of the arts can donate at www.patronicity.com/peabody. Any amount can help bring a state-of-the-art performance space to the downtown area.
