Hit the Ice for Debut of Skating Rink at Ross Park
The skating park will be open seven days per week.

PEABODY, MA - Grab your skates and head to the grand opening of the city’s outdoor skating rink at Ross Park on Thursday, Jan. 28.
Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt, Jr. is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Ross Park (formerly Cy Tenney Park) Ice Skating Rink on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m at Ross Park on Johnson Street. Bring your own skates and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and snacks courtesy of the Peabody Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.
“I am happy to invite all Peabody residents to enjoy free outdoor ice skating in the park,” Bettencourt said. “Our new ice skating rink provides a wonderful opportunity for kids and grownups alike to stay active even when the temperatures drop this winter.”

Skating hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Lights will go on ½ hour before sunset and go off 15 minutes after closing.
Skaters must bring their own skates and helmets are recommended. No hockey playing, sticks or pucks allowed, just general family skating. Skating at the Ross Park Ice Rink is at your own risk. There will be no supervision provided by the Peabody Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department.

The rink itself is 65’ x 100’ and will be monitored by closed circuit television cameras and police patrol 24 hours a day. Updates will be posted on the Peabody Recreation Department Facebook page as well as Twitter, @PeabodyRec #RossParkSkating #PlayinPeabody.
