IMAGE GALLERY: Tanners Shoot Down Danvers High Falcons, 5-2

The Tanners boys hockey team did what they needed to do Wednesday night when they beat the Danvers High Falcons at Salem State's Rockett Arena, 5-2.

The win gives Peabody a final season record 10-4-3 and 21 points that puts them atop the Northeastern Conference. To win the conference, the Tanners will need help from Beverly, Saugus and Winthrop, which still have a few games left in theirs seasons. The Beverly High Panthers might have the best chance to take the conference if they can defeat Winthrop High on Saturday night in Winthrop.

On Wednesday night, Tanners Goalie Derek Savage returned to the net and turned in a strong game with 23 saves following a three-game suspenses. Mike Chiappini scored two of Peabody High's five goals. Nico Manganiello,  Rob Houghton, and Eric Muise scored Peabody's other three goals.
