"King of Swing" Concert

Powers Music School presents a Neighborhood Concert Series event, "Benny and Beyond," on Wednesday, June 24, 12:30 pm, at the Peabody COA.

Powers Music School presents the final Neighborhood Concert Series event, “Benny and Beyond,” on Wednesday, June 24, 12:30 pm, at the Peabody Council on Aging, 76 Central Street, Peabody.

Featuring Powers’ clarinet faculty member, Todd Brunel, with guest pianist Joe Reid, the musicians will present a “King of Swing” tribute to Benny Goodman. The concert will highlight popular tunes such as Duke Ellington’s Caravan, George Gershwin’s I Got Rhythm, Cole Porter’s Day and Night, and more.

The Neighborhood Concert Series is free to attend, and is supported in part by East Boston Savings Bank and grants from the Cambridge Arts Council and Waltham Cultural Council, local agencies supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
