A little historical poetry
Montserrat College of Art and the have put together a special three-part program of history, poetry and art in honor of National Poetry Month this April. The free event, "Artifact, Archive, Orchard: The Binding of Past and Present in Poetry," will take place Wednesday, April 25 at 7 p.m. at the at Brooksby Farm, featuring poetry readings inspired by the Historical Society and a lecture by Collections Conservator for the Harvard College Library at Harvard University, Todd Pattison.

The poets involved are: Alicia Churchill, Crystal Condakes, Danielle Jones-Pruett, Joe Mcgurn, Colleen Michaels, Dawn Paul, January Gill O’Neil and Cindy Veach.

GreenFest 2012
GreenPeabody is putting on its second annual GreenFest this Saturday at the from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Residents of Peabody and surrounding communities will be able to have their environmental, recycling, gardening and energy-saving questions answered at the daylong event, which highlights local and regional “green” businesses and organizations by displaying their products and services.
This year's theme for GreenFest is education and community, incorporating a new partnership with the Peabody Public Schools. The winners of the GreenPeabody 2012 scholarship will be announced at GreenFest as well.
Green Building Sustainable Living, Affordable Too
Habitat for Humanity-North Shore to hold awards ceremony April 27 to thank local leaders and annual auction to raise funds for affordable housing projects April 27 at Danversport Yacht Club.
To purchase tickets for Habitat for Humanity-North Shore’s, “Green Building Sustainable Living Annual Auction 2012” visit www.habitatforhumanity-northshore.com/. Tickets are $45 online, but can also be purchased at the door the night of the event for $50. Doors open at the Danversport Yacht Club event at 6 p.m. with dinner, drinks, silent auction and live auction to follow.
