Lynn Man Faces Charges After Topping 100 MPH on Motorcycle and Crashing on 128

The charges include speeding and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

A Lynn man is facing a variety of motor vehicle charges after crashing at the Lowell Street offramp on Rt. 128 on Monday.

Alex Iraheta, 26, of 119 Henry Ave. in Lynn reached speeds of over 100 mph on Rt. 128 before the crash, according to Peabody police.

Police attempted to stop Iraheta on Rt. 128 South around 4:15 p.m. on Monday.

Due to the excessive speed, the police stopped following the motorcycle. However, Iraheta soon crashed the bike at the Lowell Street offramp.

Iraheta was taken by ambulance to Salem Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Peabody police issued a criminal summons for Iraheta on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, speeding, failure to stop, a marked lanes violation, a breeakdown lane violation, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and attaching plates.
