Mayor Bettencourt Backs Coakley for Governor

The Martha Coakley campaign announced on Thursday that Peabody Mayor Edward Bettencourt is backing Coakley’s campaign for governor.

“Martha Coakley understands the importance of investing in infrastructure to create opportunity and accelerate growth,” said Bettencourt. “Downtown Peabody is a testament to how these investments can spur economic development, and her regional economic plan will do the same for all communities throughout the Commonwealth.”

Coakley is battling Republican candidate Charlie Baker and third-party candidates for the governor’s office. The election is on Nov. 4.
