New Local Artist Featured at South Branch of Peabody Library
Umberto "Mickey" Mutti's paintings are on view for a limited summer showing at the South Branch of the Peabody Library
The South Branch of the Peabody Institute Library is continuing its support of local artists with a new showing of acrylics by Peabody artist Umberto “Mickey” Mutti. Twelve examples of his art are now on display and for sale in the library, located at 78 Lynn St. These paintings will only be on display for a limited time through the summer.
Mickey Mutti began painting five years ago, first trying his hand at a seascape with paints gifted to him for Christmas. He was less than thrilled with his first results and began taking art classes with Steve Greco, which offered him guidance and knowledge to improve. Since then, Mickey has painted abstracts, flowers, seascapes and animals, his particular favorite being a landscape of Monument Valley. He has had showings in Lynnfield, Saugus, Wilmington, Peabody and North Reading.
The public is invited to view Mr. Mutti’s paintings anytime the South Branch is open. For more information about the paintings, please call (978) 531-3380. For the South Branch hours or for more information about the Peabody Institute Library, please visit www.peabodylibrary.org.
