
If you were eagerly awaiting the opening of UNIQLO at the Northshore Mall, you will need to wait a little longer.
The international retail store has pushed back its opening at the Northshore Mall to Oct. 17.
UNIQLO, which is hiring for the new store, will occupy the former Pottery Barn location near the food court. The store had announced a September opening, but has since changed its signage at the mall to an Oct. 17 open date.

The Peabody location is one of six the company plans to open in Greater Boston over the next year. Other locations opening this year are a pop-up shop in Faneuil Hall in Boston and locations at the Natick Mall, the Mall at Chestnut Hill and Legacy Place in Dedham. A flagship store on Newbury Street in Boston as well as a permanent location at Faneuil Hall are also on tap for 2015.
The chain, which currently has 20 stores in the U.S. and more than 1,300 across the world, is expected to open in other US markets, including Philadelphia, San Francisco, Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.

UNIQLO is a brand of Fast Retailing Co., Ltd., a Japanese retail holding company that designs, manufactures and sells clothing under seven main brands: Comptoir des Cotonniers, GU, Helmut Lang, J Brand, Princesse tam.tam, Theory, and UNIQLO.
The company had global sales of more than $11 billion in 2013. It sponsors top-ranked male professional tennis player Novak Djokovic.
