A New Vision, A New Voice for Peabody's Ward 4

Bukia Chalvire seeks Ward 4 Councilor seat on November 7

As a first-time candidate, Bukia “Kia” Chalvire is seeking to bring a new voice and new vision to Peabody’s City Council as the next Ward 4 Councilor.

Born in Mirebalais Haiti, Bukia emigrated to the United States in 1996 with her family. Ms. Chalvire, an entrepreneur, has an extensive background in sales and marketing; especially in media, advertising and real estate. She is currently employed with the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants as an Executive Assistant. Bukia serves on many community based boards and committees. In March 2017, she received the Nehemiah Project for Hope Award at the International Women’s Day gala in recognition for her contribution to community building, public service and political activism.

Ms. Chalvire’s priorities as the Ward 4 Councilor will be to grow and support small business, advocate for smart infrastructure, increase job opportunities for youth and seniors, and maintain low taxes; keeping Peabody affordable for all residents. Optimistic and excited about the city’s future, Bukia will work tirelessly for all Peabodyites and is committed to the betterment of Ward 4 and Peabody.
