The road work will require lane closures starting Sunday "for the next few weeks."
PEABODY, MA — Nightime roadwork on the $24.7 million Route 128 Waters River bridge project will resume with lane closures expected beginning Sunday night.
The state Department of Transportation said roadwork will resume on Route 128 between Route 114 and Endicott Street near the Danvers/Peabody line. Work will continue nightly Sunday through Thursday nights for "the next few weeks" until completed.
The DOT said to expect temporary lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. as needed to safely complete construction work.

The DOT said these temporary closures are necessary to allow the contractor to complete paving, pavement markings and barrier relocation on the northbound side and the shifting of traffic away from the median to allow for the completion of the last phase of the roadway and median barrier construction.
Drivers who are traveling through the impacted areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
