No Parking Allowed on the Street Tonight

An emergency parking ban goes into effect at 8 p.m. and will be in place until further notice. Snow forecast now says 5-9 inches for Peabody.

Peabody is joining in with other North Shore cities and towns in declaring a pre-emptive parking ban tonight to keep the streets clear for when heavy snow arrives overnight.

The snow is expected to start falling around 2 a.m., lasting through the morning and posing some challenging travel conditions for anyone on the road. The latest forecast from the National Weather Service predicts 5-9 inches of snow.

The emergency ban, which was declared by the Public Services director, means no on-street parking will be allowed until further notice.
