North Shore Health Center Earns $50K State Grant
North Shore Community Health, which serves Gloucester, Peabody and Salem, will use the grant to buy essential dental equipment.
PEABODY, MA — North Shore Community Health, a family health center that serves students and families in Gloucester, Peabody and Salem, earned a $50,000 MassDevelopment award to purchase essential new dental equipment.
Founded in 1977 as Peabody Family Health Center, North Shore Community Health's mission is to provide health care for a diverse population of low-income, medically underserved, uninsured and underinsured residents across Essex County.
NSCH provides medical, dental, behavioral health, and substance use services at its 10 sites in Gloucester, Peabody and Salem, It also operates the Student Health Center at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School and the Teen Health Center at Salem High School.

NSCH will use this grant to buy essential dental equipment for its Gloucester Family Health Center, Peabody Family Health Center and Salem Family Health Center.
MassDevelopment ordered more than $1 million in grants to fund capital improvement projects including construction, renovation, equipment, furniture, technology-related projects, as well as facility needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"By providing affordable health care and social services to vulnerable populations across Massachusetts, community health centers are indispensable assets in our neighborhoods," MassDevelopment President and CEO Dan Rivera. "As we try to bounce back from the pandemic, it's as important as ever to support the critical capital projects and improvements of these organizations through our Community Health CenterGrant Program."
