Obituary: Alberta (Jackson) LeCain Boylan, Lifelong Peabody Resident

Alberta was employed for over 20 years as a sales associate at the Filene's Store in Peabody before retiring.

Alberta F. (Jackson) LeCain Boylan, 92, of Peabody, died Wednesday afternoon at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert E. LeCain, Sr., in 1972 and Frederick Boylan.

Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna (Yanusis) Jackson. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School.

Alberta was employed for over 20 years as a sales associate at the Filene’s Store in Peabody before retiring. She enjoyed Square Dancing, going to Foxwood Casino, and traveling, but her favorite activity was spending time with her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister, Lillian Murphy of Peabody, her sister-in-law, Ernestine Jackson of Peabody, her daughter-in-law Bette Ballard of CT., her granddaughter and her husband, Erin and Jeff Christensen, her step daughter, Patricia of OH, her step son John Boylan of Atlanta, and is also survived by 8 step grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Robert E. LeCain, Jr., her sisters, Mary Budka, and Marcella Imondi, her brother Raymond Jackson, and her step daughter Barbara Joyce.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice.
