Alex P. Carson, 62, beloved husband of Kim Carson of Chelmsford, and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully on Friday evening June 6, 2014, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Alexander and Stasia (Standarska) Carson. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1970.
He went into the United States Army, and served during the Vietnam War while stationed in Korea.
After the war, he earned a bachelor degree in Science from the University of New Hampshire. He furthered his education taking classes at M.I.T., Northeastern, and other college classes after graduation.
Mr. Carson loved computers and technology. He worked with M.I.T. in Cambridge as a Technical Engineer, maintaining their computer systems. He later worked as a Supervisor with TSA at Logan Airport in Boston before retiring due to his failing health issues.
Alex enjoyed continuous learning and development with management information systems and computers, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed being out in nature while fishing. He was a former member of the VFW in Peabody. He enjoyed rock music, especially Led Zeppelin. He was very devoted to his family, and had a strong patriotic pride in the United States.
He is survived by his wife Kim Carson of Chelmsford, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by his brothers Fred Carson, Richard Carson, and Robert Loving.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at 10 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
