Obituary: Brian W. Manning, Machinist at General Electric Riverworks Plant For Many Years

Brian W. Manning, 69, of Peabody, died on Sunday, December 14, 2014 with his family at his side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Brian was born in Salem on June 7, 1945, son of the late James J. and Marguerite H. (Dunleavy) Manning. He was raised and educated in Peabody graduating from Peabody High School Class of 1963, and resided in Peabody and North Conway, NH.
Brian was employed for many years as a machinist at the General Electric Riverworks Plant in Lynn until his retirement. While attending High School he played basketball and later in life played on recreation leagues for several years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing, playing cards and was also an avid football fan.
Brian is survived by his children and their spouses, Shawn and Diana Manning, Leigh-Ann and Nathan Haugh, and Timothy Manning all of Peabody; 3 grandchildren, Brian Manning, Jackson and Jonathan Haugh all of Peabody; a sister, Gail Flowers and her husband Chester of Salem; a brother, James J. Manning and his wife Margaret of NH; his former wife, Elizabeth “Bette” Thomas of Peabody, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Brian’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 19, 2014 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody.
