Claire (Murphy) DeCotis, 83, beloved wife of the late Albert M. DeCotis, entered into rest peacefully on Sunday February 15,2015 after a short illness.
Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eldora (Langis) Murphy. She grew up in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School. She most recently resided at Brooksby Village in Peabody.

Mrs. DeCotis was employed with Sears Financial as a Credit Analyst before enjoying her retirement.
Claire took advantage of all that Brooksby Village had to offer. She enjoyed theatre, the Boston Pops, and foreign travel. She did not shy away from high tech devices, and loved her Bridge Group. She became a fine painter in her senior years.

She is survived by two daughters, Ellyn Phelps of North Hampton, NH and Karen DeCotis of Danvers; a brother James L. Baldasare and his wife Katherine of Peabody, and two nieces, Lisa Christie of New York and Keri Beldekas, of Wilmington; four great-nieces and great-nephews.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a Memorial Service in celebration of Claire’s life will be held on Saturday February 21, 2015 at 11 AM at The Brooksby Village Chapel in Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Albert and Malvina DeCotis Memorial Scholarship, NSCC Foundation Scholarships Office, 1 Ferncroft Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
