Obituary: Doris M. (Cullen) Hendry, Emergency Room Nurse For Over 35

Loved to read and also enjoyed knitting, but her precious time was raising and being with her family.

Doris M. (Cullen) Hendry R.N., 85, of Danvers and formerly of Peabody, died early Friday morning at the Putnam Farm Assisted Living House in Danvers after a short illness. She was the wife of the late John J. “Jack” Hendry who died in 2003.

She was born in Chelsea, MA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Marion (Williams) Cullen and had resided in Peabody for over 50 years moving to Danvers two years ago.

Doris was a Registered Nurse for over 35 years working in the emergency room at the Union Hospital in Lynn prior to her retirement in 1994. She loved to read and also enjoyed knitting but her precious time was raising and being with her family, her children and grandchildren.

She is survivied by her four sons and spouses, John and Susan Hendry and Robert and Janice Hendry all of Salem, MA, Christopher and Mary Ann Hendry of Hampton, NH and Stephen and Mary Hendry of Groveland, a daughter and her husband, Elaine and Michael DePrisco of Peabody, a sister, Marion Cooney of Danvers, her nine cherished grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a special niece Claire Guglia of Danvers. She was predeceased by her son Paul Hendry of Salem and by her grandson, Jordan DePrisco of Peabody.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 10:30 AM until 12 Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by Services there at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice.
