Obituary: Frank N. D'Amico Jr., 66, Peabody Firefighter for Over 30 Years
Founder of the Peabody Honor Guard & Bagpipers

Frank N. D’Amico, Jr., 66, of Peabody, died Monday afternoon at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the 22 year life partner of Mary Lou Maher of Peabody.
Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Frank N. D’Amico, Sr., and Velia (Modugno) O’Neil. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of the Peabody Vocational School.

Frank was a firefighter for the city of Peabody for over 30 years, retiring in 2003 as Fire Prevention Inspector. He was a past president of the Fire Fighters Relief Association, Local 925, the Kiwanis Club, and the Board of Directors at Haven from Hunger, and he also was a former member of the Chamber of Commerce and Founder of the Honor Guard & Bagpipers.
Frank has a zest for life and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his fire fighter brothers and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his longtime partner Mary Lou, he is survived by his son, Frank N. D’Amico, III of Savannah, GA, his four daughters, Doreen D’Amico, Valeri Sutherland, and Emily and her husband Christopher McBrine, all of Peabody and Jenna and her husband Kevin Medeiros of North Andover, his sister, Denise Tempesta of Peabody and is also survived by five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Doreen D’Amico, his brother-in-law, Rick Tempesta, and his step father William O’Neil.
His funeral will be celebrated on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
