Obituary: Henrique D. Crisostomo, Tan-Rite Leather Company in Peabody For Over 35 years

Resident of Peabody for the past 55 years.

Henrique D. Crisostomo, 89, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Monday morning at his son’s home. He was the devoted husband of Palmira (Abreu) Crisostomo with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage.

Born in Gaviao, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio and Isabel (Fereira) Crisostomo. He was raised and educated in Portugal and immigrated to the United States in 1959 and has been a resident of Peabody for the past 55 years.

Henrique was employed by the Tan-Rite Leather Company in Peabody as a paster for over 35 years before he retired. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and also he liked tending to his garden.

Besides his loving wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Joyce Crisostomo of Peabody, his three grandchildren, TJ, Natalie and Nicole Crisostomo, and also by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his 8 siblings, Afonso, Manuel, Jose, and Tome Crisostomo, Rosa Branquinho, Amelia da Silva, Leopoldina Caldiera, and Maria Castro.

His funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
